Carol Malt

Carol Malt, Ph.D. is a Fulbright Senior Scholar, teaches museology and a course on "Women in the Muslim World" at the University of Florida.  She has been the Executive Director of three art museums and curator of numerous exhibitions.  She has lived in the Middle East, participated with Sir Edmund Hillary in a camel trek across northern India, is an Explorers Club member and a private pilot.

The Free Woman: Carol Malt. Based on the true story of Hura, a Berber princess, this novel portrays the inferior role of women in Islamic society and one woman's heroic deeds to save the city of Tetouan in order to achieve her freedom. A powerful historical novel that rings true today.

Malt recently held a book signing in the Librairie des Colonnes in Tanger, Morocco; she will be in Morocco until mid-October continuing her research.
