Membership
Gulf Coast Authors was founded in 2003 (originally under the name of Author! Author!) to foster the
development, promotion, distribution and marketing of local
authors' work; to provide encouragement and inspiration to
those authors as they write and submit their work for
publication; and to provide a support network for those
authors. Gulf Coast Authors is independent of any other
local writers' group.
Membership Requirements
To be eligible for membership you must:
- have written or edited, published or been paid for
or be actively pursuing paid publication for one of more
of the following: a book, anthology, short story,
column, play, television or film script, two poems,
technical writing, or such other paid writing as may be
deemed acceptable by the membership committee.
(Self-publishing is an acceptable method of publication
for membership.)
- be able to consistently participate in meetings and
group events. Each member must attend a minimum of
two of the six scheduled meetings each year.
- submit a complete application (available
by clicking here) listing verifiable published works
and two copies of your most recent publication.
The addition of new members involves the following:
- Applications for membership are reviewed and
approved by the board of directors and must meet all
membership requirements.
- Applicants will be notified by letter of their
acceptance or rejection.
Member Dues/Fees
Annual membership dues are $50. Annual dues are paid
on March 1 of each year. New membership dues are
pro-rated for that year.
Individual fees are based on the cost of each sales
event. |
